25th July 2008: Hawaiian show at Ark
Karajan Place in Roppongi --- Minato-ku
Lunchtime concerts are held every Friday at Karajan Place of Roppongi Ark Hills.
Today’s show was Hawaiian music and dance by ‘Maluhia’, a female Hula dancer with
ukulele and guitar players. Attending the concert over lunch, I was absolutely fascinated
by her healing dance of Hula in a smoothing tune and felt like in Hawaii. Although
the colour of musicians’ costume was bit too vivid and flashy for a hot summer day,
however, the performance was so well and relaxing, which made me feel ‘peaceful’,
as the meaning of Maluhia suggests in Hawaiian language.
